The Santa Maria chapter of California Women for Agriculture has a long history of doing good work for local schools  If any of the following such  projects are of interest to you, please contact the chairperson to find out more.
  • Ag in the Classroom Teacher Training
    • An education program designed to help educators learn how to implement agriculture into their classroom curriculum.  Contact Lauretta Griffin at        
  • Agriculture Student Scholarships
    • An educational scholarship program in which local agricultural students received in excess of $15,000 last year.  Contact Melani Teixeira at
  • School Classroom Ag Days
    • CWA volunteers go into multiple local schools, including Filmore Elementary in Lompoc, Miguelito Elementary in Lompoc and Foxen Elementary in Sisquoc to put on educational and entertaining programs teaching young people about where their food comes from and why agriculture is important to them.  Contact Roberta Alderete,
  • School Garden Grants
    • A program in which CWA helps to fund local school gardens, giving children a chance to experience the joy and the challenges of producing food.  Contact Lauretta Griffin at
